FAQ

STARTING PROFESSIONALS
I am a beginner. What should I choose?

For those who will be flying in the tunnel for the first time, we have prepared an offer consisting of two 1.5-minute flights. Such packages are available for both children and adults. So you are welcome with a group of friends or the whole family.
The 1.5 minutes of free flight in the wind tunnel is an experience comparable to the freefall time of making two parachute jumps from 4,000 meters.
This experience will not only allow you to experience the feeling of unhindered flight, but also to make the first fully conscious attempts to control your body. And this is the first step to join the elite group of indoor skydivers😊.

What does a visit to the tunnel look like?

Come dressed in comfortable, athletic attire and lightweight, tied shoes. You need to show up at the tunnel a minimum of 30 minutes before your reservation time. This is the time allotted for the necessary paperwork, training and equipment selection.

After registering at the reception desk and filling out the
statement
the instructor will take you to the training. He will tell how the communication in the tunnel is, what will happen one by one, how to enter and exit the flight chamber. You will also get all the necessary equipment from the instructor: wetsuit, helmet, goggles and earplugs. You are likely to be in a group of people who made a reservation in the same 30-minute block. You enter the airlock inside the tunnel as a whole group, then one by one (accompanied by an instructor at all times) you start flying: each twice for 1.5 minutes each. When you're done flying and there's an opportunity (i.e., we'll have a bit of free time), you can ask the instructor about Extra Flight: an additional flight, payable for only £99. Such a possibility is only at this point😊.

After the flights, we invite you to visit our video kiosks installed in the flight room - after entering your helmet number (it's worth remembering), flight time and email address, our system will send you a link to download the finished, edited video. You can also download the raw footage of the flight captured by our 6 cameras. It is available on computers in video rooms. You will find instructions on how to find them on the wall below the monitor. Don't forget to bring your own flash drive!
Finally, come to the reception desk - there you can pick up your certificate confirming that you've had your first free flight at Flyspot!

What do I get as part of the package price?

In the price of the package you get, of course, a flight in the wind tunnel according to the option you have purchased, plus: rental of a suit, helmet and goggles for the duration of the flight, disposable earplugs, as well as pre-flight training and instructor supervision for the entire time in the wind tunnel.

During the short training course, you will learn the basic rules for safe use of the tunnel and how to communicate while flying. Upon exiting the tunnel, a commemorative certificate will be waiting for you at the reception desk. In addition, you can also get a finished, edited video of your flying for free, as well as the ability to download raw video footage from all cameras (you need to have your own flash drive).

How to buy a voucher for a flight in the tunnel?

Our vouchers are available at the reception desks of all Flyspots. You can also order them
ONLINE at the online store
.

When I purchase a voucher, do I have to give the details of the person who will use it?

No, all Flyspot vouchers are bearer vouchers. They contain a one-time code that identifies the paid package and is used to make a reservation in our reservation system

How do I extend the expiration date of a voucher?

If at the time of voucher redemption you find that the expiration date has already passed (Flyspot vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase), the system will automatically suggest a renewal.

This is an extra paid service and the price depends on the number of flights in the package.

How long is 1 flight at Flyspot?

One flight in the Flyspot tunnel is roughly equivalent to the free-fall time of two standard tandem skydives from an altitude of 4,000 meters. In the case of a parachute jump, the freefall phase lasts about 45 seconds. Our client will spend 1.5 minutes in the wind tunnel per flight.

The time is set at this level because flying in the tunnel is, against all odds, quite a physical effort. The tunnel works muscles that we often didn't know existed. 90 seconds of such a dose of adrenaline and endorphins is really a long time full of excitement.

The package for beginners includes two or four such flights.
All flights from beginner packages are carried out on a single date.

How much does an aerodynamic flight cost?

The price of 2 flights at Flyspot for an adult starts at $289, while for children it starts at $269.

What are the contraindications to flying in the tunnel?

Tunnel flights are accessible to any average healthy person. Contraindications are:

  • 1. joint problems

  • 2. prolapse (including past) of the shoulder joint

  • 3. back problems that prevent safe bending backwards

  • 4. heart problems (including a history of heart attack or stroke)

  • 5. mental illnesses

  • 6. state after consumption of alcohol or intoxicants

  • 7. weight over 130 kg

  • 8. pregnancy - in the case of women

  • 9. epilepsy

What is the payment for flying in the tunnel?

If you book your package through www.flyspot.com, you can pay at the time of purchase (via the DOTPAY online payment system).

Or you can make a reservation and pay directly at the reception desk in the tunnel (by card or cash).

Remember that you have 1 hour to pay for your reservation - after this time the reservation will automatically expire

What if I panic or lose control in the tunnel?

There is no need to worry - there is an instructor in the tunnel with you at all times, watching over your safety. In case of any problems, he will immediately respond and provide assistance. Remember, too, that the speed of the air jets in the tunnel is adjusted to the user's skill, and your safety is still supervised by a second instructor at the tunnel door and a third, controlling the air speed.

What does the training consist of?

Before entering the tunnel, the instructor will explain how the air works and show you how to safely place your body on the jets to float freely. You will train this silhouette together with him. You will also learn how to enter and exit the tunnel and learn some simple gestures for communicating while flying (it is noisy in the tunnel, and you will have earplugs in your ears).

Is it safe for children?

The facility is safe for both children and adults. The tunnel can be used by toddlers from the age of 3 - of course, under the supervision of an instructor, who watches over the child's safety and comfort at all times. The power of the tunnel is then limited to a very low level fully safe for our little guest.

What technology are you using?

Our tunnel is based on technology from Indoor Skydiving Germany. It is the world's most advanced technology, using the most innovative solutions.

What is the innovation of this technology?

The specific solutions are covered by secrecy, but what really matters is the end result of their application. The solutions used in our tunnel guarantee the softest and most even streams among the solutions available on the market. This affects not only the comfort, but also the safety of the flying public.

Can I wear jewelry or a watch while flying?

This is not a good idea😊 You may lose your jewelry due to very strong air currents. What's more, objects falling in this way can cause injury and damage to your body and the tunnel, so we strongly urge you to empty your pockets, remove jewelry and watches before entering the tunnel.

What is the upper age limit for purchasing a child package?

The children's package is available for children between the ages of 3 and 14. Check out our offer and plan an unforgettable adventure for your little one! 🚀✨

Can I fly with my own suit and helmet?

Yes, of course, you can use your helmet and suit in the tunnel. The only restriction applies to helmets with video equipment, camera mounts or any external metal parts, the use of which is not allowed in the tunnel. If in doubt, ask our instructor if your helmet and suit are suitable for flying at Flyspot.

How long does one session last?

As much as you want :)

In a 30-minute block, you should not likely fly more than 10-15 minutes and the time will be divided according to your preferences.

Do I need a helmet and gloves in the tunnel?

For safety reasons, we require that those flying in the tunnel always wear a helmet on their head. Gloves are not mandatory, but we recommend their use. For the sake of your comfort, we recommend professionals to fly with a closed helmet. If you fly regularly, think about buying a full face.

Is it possible to fly two people in a tunnel?

In the first instance, the instructor will always check your skill level. If suitable, it will allow you to fly in twos, threes or even fours if you have friends with you with similar skill levels.

Will I learn to fly a sieve in an hour?

It all depends on your previous experience and skills. If you are in full control of flying on your belly and back, and if you can make the transition from one position to another, this is a good time to start learning to fly a sieve. Of course, ask your instructor for coaching 😊

Does the air always have the same speed in the tunnel?

The speed of the air currents in the tunnel depends on the weight of the jumper and the body position in which he flies. Wind power is adjustable for each individual; we reduce it for light jumpers and raise it for heavier ones. If someone flies flat, they need a lower wind speed than people who fly head down or sita.

I have dark goggles, is the light in the tunnel strong enough for me to use them?

If you fly with an open helmet and use goggles, we recommend that they be completely transparent. Communication between the instructor and the jumper in the tunnel is done by gestures, and eye contact is much better with bright, non-tinted goggles.

Does the tunnel allow training for flying in sit and head down positions?

The speed of the airstreams in the Flyspot tunnels is a maximum of 315 km/h. It is completely enough to train and fly in any freefly position not only for one person, but also for the whole team.

Will tunnel training help me during my AFF parachute training?

Flying in a wind tunnel before air training is the best idea you can come up with. First of all, flying in the tunnel perfectly replicates the conditions you will find yourself in after jumping out of the plane, i.e. freefall. Secondly, during AFF preparation training conducted in the tunnel, you will learn how to hold your body position steadily during flight, initiate and stop rotation, read the altimeter and simulate parachute opening. You will also greatly reduce the stress you feel during the subsequent parachute jump, which ultimately speeds up the training itself, reduces its cost, and gives you and your instructor a lot of joy and satisfaction😊.

You'll quickly see that wind tunnel training helps at every stage of skydiving, not just for basic training. In the tunnel, you will simply master the skills you will later translate to skydiving faster and in controlled conditions.

Is flying in the tunnel easy or does it require a lot of strength? Will training my arms, hands and legs help me fly through the tunnel?

Tunnel flying consumes a great deal of strength and energy in untrained jumpers. It activates muscles that we don't use on a daily basis. Strength training of the arms, hands and legs never hurts, but what really matters in the tunnel is coordination and overall fitness.

What happens when I lose control of my body?

Even experienced jumpers are never alone in the tunnel. Flyspot instructors are always present in the flight chamber. All of them are properly trained to provide you with immediate assistance and prevent injury in case of any problems.

Is it possible for the other jumper to record a video of my flight as is done during a tandem jump?

There is no need for it. The tunnel is equipped with an integrated video system that records each session from as many as six cameras at once. You can view the recorded footage right after each flying session to correct mistakes in real time with your instructor, and if you want to use it later during debriefing or send it to yourself via email, that's also possible.
